Weekend Recap

What a weekend! Pat's friend Jared was in town, so we played tourists on Saturday by going to the Crime and Punishment musuem {I looved it! But i'm also a sucker for Criminal Minds} then went to ChurchKey for dinner and proceeded to do a U-Street bar crawl where we : got to play bocce, drink on a rooftop in the rain, have the worlds best chili fries and then salsa dance at a random mexican club. It was by far the most random and amazing night we've had since being in DC and it made us feel like we were back in college!

Sunday we went to the Silver Diner and Pat got a balloon animal prize {who needs a child when I have him?! haha} and I had the most delicious breakfast EVER. Quinoa coconut pancakes with blueberries and pecans topped with grilled bananas and agave syrup, and a side of fresh strawberries with a cinnamon greek yogurt dipping sauce. I was literally drooling on myself and ate every single bite. Even though I was stuffed. Even though it made me sick after. Pure Heaven!

Awesome graffiti somewhere along our bar crawl

My breakfast on Sunday. I die.

I hope that everyone else had an amazing and exciting weekend as well!

Happy Monday!

This weekend Pat and I spent some time in our yard, made an awesome chocolate chip/strawberry pancake brunch, strolled to our downtown and took in an arts festival, lounged in the sun and listened to a local band. All in all, it was a great weekend :)

Now we just have to get ready for the week ahead and my parents coming to visit this weekend!

*I'm also THRILLED to say that yesterday my little blog got 100 pageviews on the dot. As a newbie blogger, this makes me so giddy. I'll be sure to post more pictures of our lovely little house because I think that may have been the reason :)

Thank you all for reading and {hopefully} spreading the word!

Weekend Recap

Monday again! Why is it the weekends always fly by? Being a homeowner now, it feels like there is a never ending list of things that need to get done and there's definitely not enough hours in the day to do them!

This weekend flew by in a blur of small house projects -

^ Replacing our tacky gold builders grade door knobs with black knobs for a more custom look.
^ A fun storage cabinet upgrade with a little spray paint (A DIY tutorial will be up later this week)
^ Pats closet to tool storage remodel.

One of the concessions of the house that we bought was that it didn't have a basement man space for Pat's tools to live. So my compromise was giving up the 2nd bedroom (what we call the office) closet to him to do what he wishes. This weekend after 3 separate trips to Lowe's he had all of the necessary pieces to complete it.

I think it came out awesome! When we go to sell the house, it will definitely stir up some conversation during showings :)

Seeing as all work and no play makes you mean, we took some time out to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Tidal Basin. Being new to the DC area it was something that I had never experienced and had to check out. Unfortunately the trees weren't at peak when we were there, but the weather was lovely and made for an awesome afternoon.

I hope that you all had a great weekend!
