I LOVE ballet flats. It's a small obsession. I wear them almost every day to work and have about 15 different pairs.
Here are a few that I love love for spring and summer at a few different price points. These are all perfect to wear to the office, running errands on the weekend or meeting some friends for happy hour!

Weekly Inspiration
After the super fun exciting weekend that I had, my weekly inspiration is to never stop exploring! We had such a blast just wandering in to random places in DC that I want to have that spill over in to my every day life. To never stop trying new things or going new places.

Weekend Recap
What a weekend! Pat's friend Jared was in town, so we played tourists on Saturday by going to the Crime and Punishment musuem {I looved it! But i'm also a sucker for Criminal Minds} then went to ChurchKey for dinner and proceeded to do a U-Street bar crawl where we : got to play bocce, drink on a rooftop in the rain, have the worlds best chili fries and then salsa dance at a random mexican club. It was by far the most random and amazing night we've had since being in DC and it made us feel like we were back in college!
Sunday we went to the Silver Diner and Pat got a balloon animal prize {who needs a child when I have him?! haha} and I had the most delicious breakfast EVER. Quinoa coconut pancakes with blueberries and pecans topped with grilled bananas and agave syrup, and a side of fresh strawberries with a cinnamon greek yogurt dipping sauce. I was literally drooling on myself and ate every single bite. Even though I was stuffed. Even though it made me sick after. Pure Heaven!
I hope that everyone else had an amazing and exciting weekend as well!

Happy Friday!
Happy Friday! The weekend is here and the weather is going to be beautiful! Pat's best friend is visiting so we're planning a fun weekend of sitting in bars, sight seeing in DC and then relaxing on Sunday!
I'll be putting the finishing touches on our application to adopt a puppy and trying some new recipes!
Happy Weekend Ya'll!
5 of my favorite wines for under $20
1. Gloria Ferrer Brut - $16
*Bonus: This is also rated 90 points by wine spectator.
I'm a sucker for sparkling wine/champagne/prosecco. It might be an addiction. This is one of the best bangs for your buck. It's a complex, full bodied sparkling wine with that hint of yeast {you might be thinking 'gross' but no, this is good when it comes to sparkling}
2. Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc - $12
This is absolutely my go to summer wine. It is crisp and has strong notes of grapefruit and citrus bite. It is so ah-mazing ice cold after a day of lounging on the beach.
*Pair with summer lettuce wraps for an awesome light meal.
3. BV Coastal Chardonnay - $8 {under $10, boom!}
Pat and I got this wine as a housewarming present, and it was actually one that we hadn't tried yet. I have to say, it's awesome, and we've bought a few bottles since.
This is a medium to full bodied white wine, with a creamy, oaky texture with a hint of fruit.
It's absolutely perfect when you just want a glass of something that isn't a full bodied red or a tart white. The price also can't be beat, so it's an easy staple to keep around the house.
4. Kenwood Cabernet Sauvignon - $11
Thank you Dad for introducing me to this wine :) It is an awesome full bodied wine with hints of plum fruits, but an awesome smooth tannic finish. A great, budget friendly wine that is perfect for company and tastes way more expensive than it actually is.
5. Dreaming Tree Crush Red Blend - $13
I have a thing for red blends. I'm not sure why, but blends are probably my favorite kind of red. Also, as soon as I figured out that this was the vineyard that Dave Matthews works with - I had to give it a go. This is an awesome example of a wine that is fruit-forward, with hints of jam fruits, but not sweet. I can't do sweet reds. This is seriously a great everyday table wine. I love it.

Weekly Inspiration
After such a gloomy week {or two!} that we had last week, this is going to be my mantra for this week.Whatever is ailing you, whether it's the weather {like it was for me} stress at work or anything else, a positive attitude can turn everything around!
Do you have any good slogans or mantras that help turn a bad day around?

5 of my favorite mint items for under $20
So I jumped completely on board with the mint trend, as evidenced by my recent filing cabinet DIY.
As an ode to this love, I decided to compile a list of 5 of my favorite mint items for under $20.

Weekly Inspiration
I love this print. I have it on display in an over-sized frame in our office but am probably going to re-locate the frame to our guest bedroom because the colors fit perfectly with our new color scheme that evolved from a lampshade {more on that later}
This is my weekly inspiration, and so fitting. I'm still accepting Maryland and our new house as my home {i'm pretty resistant to change} so it's a beautiful reminder for me.
Happy Monday!
This weekend Pat and I spent some time in our yard, made an awesome chocolate chip/strawberry pancake brunch, strolled to our downtown and took in an arts festival, lounged in the sun and listened to a local band. All in all, it was a great weekend :)
Now we just have to get ready for the week ahead and my parents coming to visit this weekend!
*I'm also THRILLED to say that yesterday my little blog got 100 pageviews on the dot. As a newbie blogger, this makes me so giddy. I'll be sure to post more pictures of our lovely little house because I think that may have been the reason :)
Thank you all for reading and {hopefully} spreading the word!
